One of the most in-demand jobs these days are those of a pharmacy technician. This profession has evolved from a simple back office clerk to a licensed pharmacy’s right hand. Fifteen or maybe twenty years ago the role of these technicians are not as significant as what it is now. The role they have now is bigger and more complex which is why forma education and training is already required. With these happening to the job description of pharmacy technicians it is no longer impossible that the certification and registration with the PTCB will be a must in the next few years.  As of now all most all the states in the U.S don’t require pharma techs to be certified though most employers for the said profession prefer those who have earned their CPhT title. This career may just be the right one you are looking for because it doesn’t just offer a stable job and a decent pharmacy technician salary it also offers a lot of possibilities for career growth.

It won’t be so hard for anyone to qualify as a pharmacy technician in fact there are still other employers who don’t require their technicians to be formally trained because they can do the training from within. But those type of employers are very rare these days and even if you get lucky to stumble on one chances are they do not offer a very competitive pharmacy technician pay. The good thing about this type of job is that you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars and four years in college just to be a pharma tech. This profession proves that it doesn’t take four years or even Harvard University just to earn a decent living. There are still a lot of people who believe that for someone to earn a good figure of income they must at least possess a bachelor’s degree, well not anymore! The pharmacy technician profession requires minimal educational attainment in fact a high school diploma will do. If you want to stand out from the rest of the applicants then it pays to be formally educated and trained from an accredited school recognized by PTCB. For those who are already in this line of work and they want to be promoted or maybe work in a different field then they have to be certified. To hold a CPhT title means passing the certification test and be registered with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. All that was mentioned are the facts of being a pharma tech in the United States; other countries have a different regulation when it comes to this profession.
